On our first day adventure will be perfect for everyone to acclimatize to the high altitude and the perfect practice for the up come days. Once we pick you up around 8 am to begin our journey towards Chonta where the amazing Condor lookout point is located. On the way, we will make a couple of stopovers to visit the archeological sites of Killarumiyoc or Tarahuasi. These fantastic sites were religious temple during the Incas time and they still are meaningful nowadays for the Qechua society. As we drive deeper into the Limatambo valley, you will be able to appreciate the stunning landscaped and the communities working on the land. Upon arrival, an hour of walking awaits you through a narrow path that lead to a spectacular sight of the Apurimac Canyon.

It is a peaceful place away from the crow and yours completely to enjoy it, as it is normally visited by the afternoon. Once at the lookout point, you will have some time to relax and watch the precious condors overflying the canyon until it is time for your delicious box lunch to be served. Afterwards, we must return to our private transportation toward our last destination of the day our ecologic Pincopata camp. On our arrival, you will be welcome with a seasonal fruit beverage and the you will be lead to our domes for you to enjoy of a hot shower and then rest or perhaps you decide to take a walk before indulging into a delightful dinner, prepared with ingredients grown at the Sacred Valley.

After you have enjoyed breakfast, our journey continues toward the village of Tilca where we will walk uphill towards the “Apus” or sacred mountains, on the way we will appreciate the typical Andean vegetation and stunning views of the valley and at the top a few stairs can be observe this had a religious purpose during the Incas time. After our guide hade provide more details, we will start our descending to Marcahuaylla. From there we will take a different path that will lead us to the archeological ruins of Choquechurco which means place where gold reside. This is a unique site, that has remained unknown to many but that we love to visit. Located hidden in a Polylepis trees forest, this site will give you the satisfaction of become a real explorer.

Besides, we will delve into religious enclosures, settlements and Inca walls that mostly will be covered on the vegetation that grows in the area. We will also have fantastic views of the Apu Humantay, the Limatambo valley, Apurimac and the Mollepata village. Being rewarded but such stunning sights, we will make a stop to enjoy lunch, before continue on our journey toward our ecologic camp of Pincopata.

Day 3

Option 1: Pincopata camp - Marcoccasa - Humantay Lake - Pincopata Ecocamp

After you have enjoyed a delightful breakfast, you will be transfer in a 15 min ride to the beginning of our trek in Marcoccasa. From there, we will start todays adventure walking up the hill before we keep our journey that overlooks the fascinating White River Valley and the snowcapped mountains Humantay and Salkantay. On the perfect spot with this amazing sight, you will be delighted by your box lunch.

By the afternoon, you will have the opportunity to hike towards the Humantay Lake if you desire, this stunning turquoise water lake is located on the base of the mountain that holds the same name. The hike will take 1.5 while you pass by beautiful views of the glacial and lake. If you rather stayed at the campsite, then perhaps you would like to schedule a relaxing massage session or just to take a walk around the premises. The night will be spent at Pincopata Camp.

Day 3

Option 2: Pincopata camp-Salkantay Pass - Pincopata camp

• Driving distance: 40 km / 26 ml (round trip)

Once you have finished with your nourishing breakfast, you will be taken to Soraypampa the official start point of the trek. From the valley bottom to slowly ascend through various pampas. The final climb is definitely challenging but the rewards will be the stunning view of the Salkantay pass. Surely, this moment must be celebrated, before we begin to descend to a more appropriate and warmer spot for you to enjoy your delicious box lunch. Afterwards, we will start heading back to Soraypampa and take the transportation that will take us back to our ecologic campsite in Pincopata, where dinner will be awaiting you.

Today we will start our day with a delicious breakfast, and then move towards the Moray at the Sacred Valley, where you will visit peculiar terraces built on a conical shaped by the Incas, it seems that was a development center and agriculture laboratory. Your knowledgeable guide will provide further explanation on this incredible site, before it is time to visit a local community and enjoy of a traditional lunch. Take benefit on talking to the locals that will be more than happy to share their experiences and explain more of the products they cultivate until we move towards Maras. Once there we will check on the salt ponds where we enjoy of a short walk through the pristine salt mines and the precious valley before returning to our transportation that will take us to our accommodation of the night.

An early arise and early breakfast await you, as we will transfer you the train station for you to board the wagon to KM 104 or known as Chachabamba, and one of the Inca Trail check points, this particular one lead to Wuiñay Huayna that in Quechua means forever young and it is actually the most important archeological site on the Inca Trail after Machu Picchu. Once you have enjoyed and capture this precious place with your camera, we will keep the journey passing by the sun gate and then arriving to the breathtaking Machu Picchu. There, you will have some time at your leisure to relax, before heading to the entrance to take a bus ride of 30 min to Aguas Calientes (Machu Picchu town). Upon your arrival to Aguas Calientes you will be taken to your accommodation to rest for the night.

After you have enjoyed breakfast, our expert guide will meet you to head towards the Sanctuary of Machu Picchu on 30 min bus ride. Once we have check into the citadel entrance, our guide will take the lead and take us through the most important enclosures and settlements while discovering the secrets, theories and mysteries that surrounded Machu Picchu on our complete walking tour.

As an optional, you may decide to hike a little longer and climb the Machu Picchu Mountain or Huayna Picchu, both hikes are consider as challenging, but the rewards are beautiful sights of the Urubamba greenish valley. If you would like to hike any of these mountains, please let us know in advanced as this must be book far in advance. After you have accomplished your visit, you will enjoy of a delicious lunch at Sanctuary Lodge. Then, it will be time to take the bus down to Aguas Calientes, reconnect with your luggage and then board the train to Ollantaytambo, once there a representative will transfer you back to Cusco city.


  • Train stations and train schedules are subject to availability, also due to rainy season Poroy train station is closed from January to April of each year.
